Sycamore UMC Music Ministry Position(s)
Sycamore United Methodist Church (http://sycamoreumc.com/in Prince George County, VA (near Petersburg and Hopewell) is inviting applications for two Music Ministry positions starting in 2012. Currently, we are recruiting for:
  • a more traditional first service (8:45 -10:00 am) Music Director position, and anticipate filling this in January. This is a part-time position. 
  • The other position serves as a part-time worship leader for a contemporary service. However we are currently reviewing the direction and mission of this 11:15 service, and anticipate working with the worship leader position in the Spring. Providence UMC Pianist/Keyboardist
Keyboard/piano player wanted for Providence United Methodist Church in New Kent County (a little east of Richmond). 
  • Play all service music and accompany choirs at 8:30 and 11:00 Sunday worship.
  • Rehearse with choirs two evenings each week. 
  • Pay for special services at Christmas and Easter. 
  • Must be able to read and play a wide variety of music well, from classical to contemporary/pop, and be able to accompany ensembles.

    Cameron UMC Director of Music
    Cameron United Methodist Church (Alexandria, VA) has an opening for a Director of Music. We are looking for someone who has a heart for serving God and a desire to produce the highest quality music for the glory of God. This position would be responsible for the existing Adult and Children’s Choirs, Cameron’s Preschool music program as well as, developing other music groups. The Director of Music would be leading the musical aspect of worship by planning, managing, and executing all musical components including selection/arrangement of music and developing volunteer leaders for a praise band and choirs. Cameron is seeking a person that has knowledge of modern style worship music and hymns with the ability to incorporate elements of traditional, contemporary and gospel worship.
